J.John & Philo Trust are hosting a live event with Nicky Gumbel & Julia Immonen, at Christ Church, Chorleywood on Tuesday 29 May 2012 at 7:30pm. Please be aware that this event is being filmed for future TV broadcasting.

NICKY GUMBEL
Nicky Gumbel is the vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton, London and Director of The Alpha Course. More than 210,000 church leaders have been trained to run Alpha courses, which are now running in 166 countries. There are almost 8,500 courses running in the UK and almost 55,000 world-wide. Eighty per cent of the prisons in the UK are now running Alpha. An estimated 16 million people have completed the course world-wide.

JULIA IMMONEN
Julia is the founder of Sport Against Trafficking, which hopes to harness the positive power of community and sport to raise public awareness as well as funding for projects directly tackling human trafficking. Sport is being used at a grassroots level to rehabilitate and re-integrate victims of trafficking back into society. In December 2011 Julia lead a team of 5 ordinary girls on an extraordinary adventure united for the cause of human trafficking. They rowed the Atlantic Ocean to raise awareness and funds for anti trafficking charities and victims. Taking just 45 days 15 hours 26 minutes they completed the race breaking two world records.

Travel Info

BY CAR
From the M25, Junction 18, take the exit for Chorleywood / Amersham. Follow the road straight over the crossroads, and the church is a few hundred metres on the left hand side, opposite The Gate Pub. The Church has a free large car park that is located next to the church.

BY TRAIN
Take the Metropolitan Line to Chorleywood or the Chiltern Line from Marylebone to Chorleywood. Take the exit on the Southbound side and Christ Church is 1 mile away.
